So many of you told us you wanted to go to Spain. So this summer we spent a month there staying in an apartment in the historic El Born area. Our local friends showed us the foodie shops in Barcelona. These shops feature chocolate, roasted nuts, traditional sweets making, a famous wine shop and pastry shops with jewel like confections. The beach is just a few blocks away. Along the Olympic Port there are bars with lounging couches and tropical drinks. The old narrow stone streets are just make for wandering. The Modernisme art of Gaudi is still as modern as when it was created 100 years ago. Since we are foodies we have to admit one of our favorite experiences was choosing tapas by the toothpick. At the end they just count up the toothpicks to calculate the bill.
Cooking Classes and Wine Tasting: Take a tour of the famous food markets of Barcelona with a local and choose the freshest local ingredients to make a meal. You can't go home without learning to make tapas. You'll can make these for your friends and serve them up with a sparkling cava, giving your friends just a taste of your time in Barcelona. We'll go to the region famous for Cava and taste their special wines. In Barcelona we'll have a tasting in the best wine shop in town.
So that you can really get a taste of life in the El Born of Barcelona you'll have your own loft style apartment. Plenty of room to stretch out, a fridge for your drinks and snacks. Just outside your door is the famed El Born area perfect for a late night walk to the beach or enjoying a morning coffee with the locals.
